Meet the Founder: Yogi Akal
Founder and Director of the International Centre for Yogic Arts and Sciences (ICYAS)
Yogi Akal is a yogic scholar and teacher who has dedicated his life to the study and advancement of human potential. Since 1973 he has trained therapists, educators, and professionals, advised world leaders, and promoted peace across cultures. A pioneering figure, he was the first yogi to appear on major international media networks, the first to introduce yoga into North American school systems, and the founder of the first academic institution in Canada dedicated to yogic therapy and natural medicine.
Recognized as the leading authority on Yogic Numerology, a rare discipline within both classical and modern yoga, he applies this system as a prescriptive and diagnostic method for leaders and practitioners around the world. He is also the creator of several proprietary systems of knowledge and healing, including Renaissance Mind™, Das Prakash® Healing, and Stress-Away™, which are now taught and practiced under his direct guidance through ICYAS and its affiliated programs.
